Established in 1868, A & G Price Ltd is one of Australasia’s largest and longest-established engineering works.
With a fully equipped foundry, heavy machine shop, fabrication section, and fitting bays, we provide top-tier engineering expertise to a broad range of industries. Based in Thames, we employ highly skilled tradespeople, including foundry specialists, machinists, fitters, welders, and engineers. Our plant operates 24/7, ensuring we are ready to respond to emergency work, breakdowns, and urgent orders.

Our work spans the manufacturing of locomotives and wagons for the rail industry, designing specialised components for the Defence sector, producing keels and bulbs for America’s Cup syndicates, and delivering major plant refurbishments for various processing industries.
Our foundry produces medium to large castings in irons, steels, and non-ferrous metals, while our extensive heavy machine shop handles workpieces up to 40 tonnes and 10 metres in length.

OUR PROJECTS
Avteq & Southern Short Haul
Locomotives used in the Australian mining industry are equipped with 6-wheel bogies and matching bolsters manufactured by A&G Price, designed to handle the demanding conditions of mining operations.
Royal Australian Navy - ‘ANZAC’ Frigate
A&G Price played a significant role in the ANZAC ship project, including work on the HMAS Toowoomba, where they manufactured critical components such as deck machinery, stabiliser fins, cooling equipment, and the floating operations room floor. Additionally, they produced smaller parts like anchor shanks and bollards showcasing their comprehensive capabilities in marine and defence engineering.
